February 2018

In Kindergarten they count the days of school and the 100th day is a BIG deal!  They do all sorts of special activities that day with the number 100.  This year the teachers also decided to have the kids dress like they were 100 years old.  Thank you consignment and thrift stores for helping me put together an inexpensive outfit.

We are always looking for fun (but inexpensive) things to do as a family.  Both girls love music and plays but those can be pricey.  We live in a large enough area that there are MULTIPLE high schools that do various theater productions during the year.  We've never gone to one before but this year one was doing Disney's Little Mermaid.  That's one of my favorite movies and the girls watched it last summer.  Then I found out that tickets to the matinee show were discounted if you wore a Disney costume.  The girls both had princess dresses and Nathan and I kept our Minnie and Mickey costumes form Halloween a few years ago. One our friends from church was actually the conductor for this musical so that was fun.  The girls loved looking in the pit to see all the instruments.  And they got to take their picture with Ariel after the show.  We had so much fun, and were VERY impressed by the talent of these high school students. We'll definitely be keeping our eye out for more shows to see.

I purposely didn't take any sub jobs on Valentine's Day so I could help with both girl's parties. This time they overlapped so I was mostly in kindergarten since I was technically room mom in charge.  But I did get to hit the end of Hannah's party too.

Abigail had to make a Valentine box at home this year and of course she chose a frog theme.  =P

My dad always gives the girls something special...this year it was stuffed bears.  They LOVE them!

After watching the Olympics Hannah really wanted to go ice skating.  Nathan can actually ice skate (unlike me) so he said he's take her.  Abigail went back and forth on whether to go and decided at the last minute to join them.  Turns out she should have stayed home, because apparently she cried the entire time.  Nathan got a super cute picture of her before she went on the ice though...LOL!  Hannah loved it and actually went around the rink twice without holding on.  Rollerskating is more my idea of fun so we're hoping do that as a family outing sometime soon.
