February 2016

Now that photo books are completed....Grammy dug her camera back out.  LOL!  Abigail enjoyed playing with homemade play dough, even if she didn't want to watch us make it.  We enjoyed some nice weather and took a walk.  And it was time to trim Abigail's hair so Grammy enjoyed playing with new hairstyles.  I'm loving how her hair looks straightened.  Wish I had time to do it more often.

At the end of January, Hannah's class went on a field trip to Frisco Fire Town.  Sadly I had plans that day and couldn't go with them.  But a friend's mom went and sent me this picture.  They had lots of fun and enjoyed riding/driving battery operated cars.

Abigail is officially a reader now!!!  She's only reading simple sentences and it is S-L-O-W going, but she can totally do it.  And she is SUPER proud of herself too.  So thankful both my girls love to learn!!!

My parents came up to our house one Friday and surprised Hannah by picking her up from school.  Then we went to play at the park.  Lots of fun...my parents really miss not seeing Hannah every week and she misses them too.  New favorite picture of my sweeties!!!

Last, but certainly not least.....Silly Kitty Boy had a birthday!  He is now one.  The girls sang him "Happy Birthday" and gave him some cat treats.  The last time my mom was up here we took Domino outside for a few minutes so she could get a picture with better light.  He enjoyed sniffing the leaves.

January 2016

This month has flown by...with Abigail's birthday, school starting, and activities starting up again. We've actually had a gradual start to all most of our activities which has been nice.  Still can't believe the month is over though.  My mom and I have been putting together the girls photo books (full of 2015 pictures) so no time to actually take pictures.  Everything in today's post is from my phone.  =)

We've had a few afternoons of nice weather, but mostly it's been cold.  We bundle up in jackets, scarves, and hats/hoods while walking to school.  It's 10 minutes one way so not terrible, but I'm always glad to come back home where it's warm.  No crazy snow or ice storms though which is nice.

Speaking of cooler weather, I broke down and bought Domino two fleece shirts from an online vendor that owns sphynx cats.  I swore I wasn't going to spend money to clothe my cat...but it was cold.  And we tried sock sweaters and infant sweaters (all bought really cheap) and they were just not the right size. Thankfully I found a really good sale so I didn't have to spend an arm and a leg.  Domino still isn't sure sure that he likes them though.  =)

When it's sunny in the afternoon the window in Hannah's room is Domino's favorite place to be.

The girls are LOVING the dollhouse my dad built for Christmas.  The play with it all the time.  I enjoy doing some basic school things with Abigail while Hannah is gone.  We don't do it everyday and mix in learning games and crafts too.  Abigail surprised me with how many letters she knew how to write.

When we get home from picking up Hannah from school, we have snack and then a 30 minute quiet time in our rooms.  This gives Hannah a chance to decompress from her day and puts her in a better frame of mind to do homework and Abigail loves it too.  And Mommy has a few more minutes to get something done without being interrupted.  =)  One day I came to tell Hannah it was time to come out and found her playing "school" with her toys.  SO CUTE!  I love that her doll is raising her hand to ask a question.

June 2015

I'll apologize now that all the pictures were taken by me....and with my phone.  My mom fell and broke her wrist at the beginning of June and she gets her cast off tomorrow.  She's actually taken some photos this month, but can't edit them yet. Maybe I'll do an all pictures post once their done.  =)

I started the month by spending 4 days in Phoenix for Plexus Convention.  I joined the company last year right before convention and wasn't brave enough to go.  Even though it was out of my comfort zone I decided to go this year and I'm so glad I did!!  I learned a ton, met some new friends, and even got to see some family.  My awesome cousin let me stay with her and was my taxi driver for the week.  It was so good to see her and her brother and his family!!!  In case you're wondering the girls had a BLAST hanging out at home with Daddy...lots of fun stuff.  =)

One I got back in town we have enjoyed play dates, parks, splash parks, and even swimming.  We've only gotten in the water twice. The first time neither of the girls was very excited.  They always forget over the winter how much fun swimming is.  The 2nd time went much better and we hope to get in at least once more before we start swim lessons.

We also enjoyed a week of VBS at church.  I worked in the music/story room again this year and had a blast!  Hannah was officially a participant this year and not just in childcare.  She had a great time and even made a new friend for the week.  Even though Abigail was in childcare she heard the same story as the big kids and did some music as well.  She is so funny though, everyday when I picked her up she would tell me her story but never any songs she sang or anything else she did.  This week she was playing by herself and was singing a song about a caterpillar.  I asked where she learned in at the told me Bible school and then she sang 2 other songs she learned.  Silly child told me she didn't sing during music time either because she wanted to learn all the words.  Goofball!!  She know them all now and sings them often.
One of our stories was Daniel and the Lions Den....this was Hannah's best "lion face."

We are still LOVING sweet Domino.  He is definitely a kitten and pounces everything and we're working on not biting too.  He gets so excited and wants to play, but doesn't realize how sharp this little teeth are.  He and the girls are getting more comfortable with each other.  Although we do have to remind the girls they don't need to pick up Domino and carry him around.  Thankfully he is a very tolerant cat and has never hissed or tried to scratch them.  He is my nap time companion and always curls up next to me while I work on the computer.  =)

This week is Preschool Music Camp, also at church.  Our theme this year is God's Little Love Bugs.....so cute!  Both girls are participating (and I"m working), but only the 4 and 5 year olds are learning the "musical."   The kids are doing a great job and their "performance" on Thursday should be adorable.  Abigail is having fun too even though she doesn't get to come to my room.  They go to their own music room to sing...though silly Abigail is just listening again.  =)  Two of Abigail's good friends are in her class as well as another Abigail and and Abbey.....so fun!

Meet Domino

Our little kitten came home a little over a week ago.  After much discussion and debate we decided to name him Domino.  He has 10 spots (5 on each side) a black head and tail.  His nose and ears have the most hair.  The rest of him is covered in a very fine layer of fur sort of like peach fuzz.  He feels a little like suede when you pet him.

The night Domino came home the girls were already in bed (but not asleep).  All his stuff is in the playroom which shares the same wall that Abigail's bed is on.  Domino was meowing as he checked out the room and we heard Abigail "meow" in response from her bed.  SO FUNNY!  Then when I woke her up the next morning she said "Mommy I heard the video of our kitty meowing last night."  When she came out and saw Domino she said "Oh it was Domino, not the video!"

Sweet baby seems to be adjusting fairly well.  He has started playing with some of his toys, his favorites are the laser pointer and a nano bug. Super cool toy! Domino hasn't had any issues, eating, drinking, or using his liter box.  He does like attention and will follow you around meowing if you aren't playing with him or if he's hungry.  If he is resting or sleeping then it's on one of us.  Total cuddle bug!!!  Thankfully he also likes his bed and blanket where he sleeps at night or while we are gone. We find him in there every morning.

Domino had his first bath (with us) on Sunday.  He was a little confused because he has only been bathed in the sink.  We put him in the girls old baby bathtub inside the regular bath tub.  Domino meowed some and tried to climb out a few times, but he didn't do any hissing or scratching.  I expect he'll get more comfortable as he gets used to our house.  And maybe someday we can just go in the bathtub with the girls.  =)

Needless to say we are IN LOVE!!  The girls enjoy having a pet and think it's hysterical to watch him play.  They also insist on giving him kisses before bed/nap.  I love that our kitty can sit on me or my furniture and there is no pet hair left behind.  And no one seems to be having any allergy issues.  YEAH!!

Better pictures coming soon.  My family came over to play last weekend and my mom got a few good shots. =)
