It seems like this January post sneaks up on me every year. I get through Christmas and Abigail's birthday and my mom and I start working on the girls photo books. Then before I know it, it's February and I have taken no photos and written zero blog posts. =( So I'm writing a brief post of our month's activities and using pictures from my phone. Next month will be better....or so I keep telling myself. =P
We actually got a little bit of winter weather. All my weather apps showed 0% chance of precipitation but all the local weather men were saying we would get snow. It was certainly cold enough for it. About noon on January 6 we saw teeny tiny snow flurries driving home from Grammy's house. I really thought that was all we were going to get. However the flurries got bigger and it snowed for about 4 hours. It was still snowing when it was time to pick Hannah up from school. We actually walked home in the snow. Thankfully there was no ice and the roads were just fine the next morning.
Despite our one afternoon of snow, there were many days of nice weather in January. We enjoyed being able to play outside and not freeze walking to and from school. Abigail and I met our friend Alexa at the park one morning. Alexa's mom and I met our freshman year at Baylor and have been friends ever since. So fun to watch our girls develop a friendship too!
I also got to go on a field trip with Hannah's class. They went to the Outdoor Learning Center. We walked on the trail through the woods looking for animal habitats. Then we got to see the animals they keep in cages inside the center. The kids were looking for different things in each habitat like a place to hide, a lamp to keep warm, plants, etc. It was a fun trip and I'm so glad I got to join Hannah's class.
Read about our journey to have children and our adventures in parenting. God is good and we have lots to be thankful for.

March 2015
We started off the month with more winter weather. Nothing most of the winter and then 3 big storms in 3 weeks. CRAZY! We got quite a bit of snow, enough to completely cover the grass. By lunchtime the sun had melted the snow enough for it to stick together. So we took the girls out to build a snowman. They actually had lots of fun running around in the snow and making tiny snowman. Nathan and I did all the work on Sally (as Hannah named her). I didn't realize until after we were back inside that one of Sally's eye fell off...ooops.
The arrows are pointing to the tiny snowman. =)
We took a weekend trip up to Arkansas during spring break to visit Nathan's family. We had a really good visit with family and friends. The girls ran Paw Paw all over his apartment. =) Thankfully the girls are really good in the car. We do have issues with sleeping though since they have to share a room. They like to stay up really late (like 9:00) and talk instead of actually going to bed at night. And they always wake each other up early in the morning too. Silly girls!!!
After all our crazy winter weather and lots of cloudy rainy days, it finally feels like spring. So thankful to see the sun!! We've enjoying spending time outside. My mom and I took the girls out to the Arboretum last Friday. So fun!
They loved the pinwheels Grammy brought.
Our view during our picnic lunch!
Hannah is now officially registered for Kindergarten. Where did the time go?!? She can't be that old right, she was just born yesterday. I'm excited for Hannah, she's going to have lots of fun. We live about a block and a half away from our school so most of the time we will walk.

February 2015
This was a busy and fun month. The girls and I made valentines and snack mix for our friends and neighbors. Hannah and I did this last year, but Abigail enjoyed helping this time. We were at Grammy's house the day before Valentines so we made "love bugs" and pie crust cookies filled with Nutella. Cute story..I made felt heart cookies as a Christmas present for the girls to play with in their kitchen. Since Valentine's Day they have made lots of Nutella cookies just like Grammy. =)
We've had lots of crazy weather in Texas. Sunny warm days where we played outside and went to the park. Then last week we had 2 days of ice and later in the week 3 1/2 inches of snow. The girls get excited when it snows and like to watch out the window. They aren't big fans of playing in the cold though. It always takes us longer to get dressed than we spend outside. LOL! They did slide down the driveway a few times and throw snow. Sadly the snow we usually get is too powdery to make a snowman. That I think they would enjoy. =)

Christmas 2012
It was fun to have the girls with us for the Christmas Eve service this year. Hannah has come with us every year, so we thought we'd try with Abigail too. Our church has childcare for kids under 5, but the service is pretty family friendly. They both did really well...minimal wiggling a talking. The service is mostly music which they both loved! We talked to Hannah beforehand about being quiet and sitting still. I brought paper and crayons but she was happy to hold her stuffed monkey.
We enjoyed spending Christmas Day with my parents and sister. The day began by meeting for our traditional IHOP breakfast. YUMMY! Then we went back to my parents house so Abigail could nap while we opened gifts. Sweet girl was still sound asleep when I went to wake her up...she even slept through opening the window shade and my mom taking a picture. LOVE this photo though!!

Hannah definitely understood more about Christmas this year. Nathan and I have chosen not to do the whole Santa thing, but she was super excited about opening presents. She was even excited about passing out presents to everyone else. The girls big gift this year was a play kitchen. More on this in Hannah's post next month. =) Abigail mostly got books and clothes, but she plays with all of Hannah's toys too.

We woke up to pouring rain Christmas morning, but by 1:30 or so it turned to snow. They snow fell for several hours and was so pretty to watch. After the girls naps we went out to play for a few minutes. I didn't come prepared for snow so none of us were dressed warm enough. G-Pa built a little snowman and put him on a plate for Hannah to hold.

All in all it was a really fun day. We feel very blessed to be able to spend time with family and have them spoil our girls!
