We have called Hannah "Little Miss Observant" for quite some time. She just doesn't miss anything. We listen to Pandora (internet radio) through our DVD player almost every day. We listen to the children's station which is mostly Raffi, Veggie Tales, and Sesame Street. One of the songs is the classic "C is for Cookie." Hannah was singing it today and when she finished the song she repeated the speaking at the end of the song EXACTLY. The song says "Cookie did you eat them all by yourself. You didn't share one. Oh for shame."
Silly girl! Just another reminder that she is paying attention even when she seems distracted. =)

Twenty Eight Months
Hannah is becoming more and more independent. We hear lots of "Hannah
do it" and "my turn." Still working on feeding herself with a spoon.
She does great with yogurt and oatmeal because they are a little thicker
and don't fall off the spoon. Hannah doesn't like to get dirty or
messy so this has been a challenge. =) She is also a great helper and will
bring me things for Abigail or throw things away for me.
We began praying with Hannah before meals about a year ago. She would tell us who or what she wanted to pray for. Usually family, but sometimes, flowers and toys. A few months ago we asked her if she wanted to pray and she said yes. Her prayer is almost always the same, but it's so sweet. "Dear God, thank you for Daddy and Grammy. In Jesus name Amen" She still wants Nathan or I to pray too, so our food usually gets blessed twice. =) Sometimes when I go to get Hannah in the morning or after a nap she will tell me that she prayed in her bed. I know she doesn't completely understand the concept yet, but I'm glad she's trying!!
Hannah still love letters! She points them out on clothing, signs, books, and many other places. She has magnetic letters to play with and likes when Nathan and I write letters. We have only worked on identifying capital letters so far. She knows all of them except: N, Q, W, Y, and Z. She still gets some of them (like I and T) confused sometimes, but if we ask her to look again she usually gets it right. Smart girl!
My mom and I took the girls to take picture in the bluebonnets (or boo bonnets as Hannah says) a few weeks ago. It was challenging to say the least! Hannah and I had to practice sitting in the grass for a week before we even took the photos. The first time I tried she had a MAJOR melt down! Then as a typical 2 year old she didn't want to sit still for us to take pictures. We did manage to get several cute shots. Here's one of my favorites.

Three Months
Has it really been three months since my sweet girl was born? Oh how time flies!
Abigail is sleeping much much better than she was a month ago. We still have occasional not so great naps, but a HUGE improvement. She is also doing great at night. Once I stopped setting an alarm, it took about 2 weeks for her to stop waking up at night. She will now sleep for about 10 hours. That makes a happy and well rested mommy! =) She is still sleeping swaddled in blankets, but we hope to gradually transition out of them in the next month or so. Of course Hannah slept fully swaddled until 6 months and then from the waist down for another 2 months. =-) We'll see.
Abigail has always been a better and more efficient eater than Hannah was. She had no problem alternating between nursing and bottles when we were supplementing. Once her jaundice was gone we stopped using a bottle except on Sunday morning at church. Each week it became harder and harder to get her to drink her bottle. I think we've bought four different kinds and have thrown away lots of pumped milk. =( I think we found a bottle she seems to like (Playtex Nurser) and we are doing lots of practice to get her to drink it. Most of the time she doesn't cry, but isn't really interested in eating either. She seems content to chew on the nipple. Silly girl! She will eventually drink some, but it takes FOREVER. Thankfully the ladies in the nursery at church are patient with her. Practice makes perfect right?
We are still doing "tummy time" even though Abigail doesn't really seem to enjoy it. She CAN lift her head up, but only when she wants to. Check out the pictures my mom took and put together. These shots were taken seconds apart.
Abigail is continuing to engage with us more and more. Lots of smiles, especially to mommy. =) Grammy did make her laugh for the first time last week. Nathan and I think that Abigail "talks" more than Hannah did at this age. Hmm...maybe she's trying to compete with big sister who never stops talking! =)
